Hemorrhoids

Internal Hemorrhoid’s are quite common and occur in approximately 50% of people during their life with the highest occurrence between the ages of 45-65. They result from repeated pressure in the rectum, often due to chronic constipation, prolonged sitting, straining, a family history of hemorrhoids, and excessive exercise.

Experience Effective Relief: Non-Surgical Treatment for Internal Hemorrhoids

What is Hemorroid Embolization?

Hemorrhoid embolization is a minimally invasive, interventional radiology procedure designed to provide long-term relief from rectal bleeding caused by internal hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids occur when abnormal connections develop between arteries and veins in the rectum. The procedure is performed by making a small puncture in the groin and inserting a thin catheter. With the help of x-ray guidance, the doctor guides the catheter to the arteries supplying the hemorrhoids with blood. Small coils and/or microbeads are released blocking the blood flow to the area, causing them to shrink and eventually resolve.

External hemorrhoids are swollen veins located under the skin around the anus, and they can cause a variety of symptoms. Common signs include pain or discomfort, particularly during or after bowel movements, and noticeable swelling or a lump near the anal opening. This lump may feel hard or tender, especially if a blood clot (thrombosis) is present. Many people also experience itching, irritation, or a burning sensation in the affected area. Bright red bleeding may occur during bowel movements, typically painless and seen on toilet paper or in the toilet.

Treatment method

What is Sclerotherapy for Hemorrhoids? Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical treatment option for external hemorrhoids. During this procedure, a doctor injects a special chemical solution into the base of the hemorrhoid. The solution causes the blood vessels inside the hemorrhoid to shrink and clot, which reduces the size of the hemorrhoid over time. As a result, the hemorrhoid becomes smaller and less noticeable. This procedure is relatively simple and minimally invasive, often performed in a doctor’s office with minimal discomfort. While it doesn’t require cuts or stitches, it can take a little time for the full effects to be seen, and several sessions may be needed for more severe hemorrhoids.

It’s important to follow any aftercare instructions provided by your doctor to ensure the best outcome.
